Adi Altschuler

Founder of "Krembo Wings"
Prize for Promising Young Entrepreneur

The Rappaport Prize for Promising Young Entrepreneur was awarded to Adi Altschuler, founder of Krembo Wings. At age 11, Altschuler volunteered to tutor a young boy with cerebral palsy, which helped her realize she could help thousands of children like him. The result: the Krembo Wings Youth Movement, which she established at the age of 16 as the only youth movement in Israel and worldwide for children and youth with special needs. The organization integrates special needs and normative children.

Today the movement has 25 branches all over the country. These branches were established by young people and serve as a social and informal educational framework, with approximately 1,700 children, youth, students and mentors participating weekly. In 2009, Krembo Wings received the President's Award, an official recognition for leading social change. At the time she received this prize, Adi Altschuler was the Education Department Manager for Google and served as Honorary President of Krembo Wings.
