The Rappaport Prize for Promising Groundbreaking Initiative 2015 awarded to Alona Winograd who serves as the Executive Director at the Movement for Freedom of Information. For the past four years she has worked effectively and successfully to promote government transparency in Israel. She has succeeded in making a small, low-budget organization have a real impact in the Israeli public sphere.

Thanks to the power that access to information provides, she has successfully assisted dozens of social organizations in achieving their goals and empowering the populations they represent. Winograd has promoted the principles of transparency and freedom of information, which thanks to her efforts have become key issues on the public agenda and have influenced much broader circles beyond the specific organizations and individuals supported by the Movement.
