David Reeb

Prize for Established Israeli Artist
Born in 1952, David Reeb graduated from Israel’s Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in 1978. Since then, he has been a lecturer at various institutions and has held numerous solo exhibitions in museums in Israel and abroad. Reeb, considered a politically expressive artist, creates observer art.

Rather than painting landscapes or political events, he creates images representing these scenes, which he paints as photographs and images taken from TV and the Internet. "The wide scope of matter in Reeb’s work, from its inception to present day, questions the areas of art and politics and the inexorable relationship between them."
