Prize for Women Generating Change
The Rappaport Prize for Women Generating Change in Israeli Society for long-term achievement was awarded to Hanita Rodney, the founder of “Enosh.” When Rodney, a Holocaust survivor, discovered that her oldest daughter was schizophrenic, she emerged stronger from her personal pain and established a not-for-profit organization called “Enosh,” which restores hope to thousands of people with mental illness and their families.
The association comprises 52 branches and provides services of all kinds for the mentally ill and their families. Rodney is currently promoting the study of the brain to find a cure for mental illness in general, and schizophrenia in particular.
