Lilach Tzur ben Moshe

Promising Groundbreaking Initiative
Lilach Tzur ben Moshe pioneered a way to help women on the continuum of prostitution. Her initiative grew while the subject was hardly spoken in the public sphere, and women in prostitution were perceived as lost, and led a dramatic change from end to end.

Lilach established "Turning the Tables" in 2011 to help women develop a motivation for changing their lives, to trust their own abilities and the ability of society to accept them as equal and worthy. This is the first organization in Israel and among the first in the world to promote personal and economic alternative to women in the cycle of prostitution.

The innovative model, which includes professional training, a comprehensive psychosocial treatment in all areas of life, and a multi-year escort in continuing studies, work, and personal and economic conduct, has been recognized as the first dedicated program for these women. This program acts in collaboration with the Social Security and is now replicated in cities throughout Israel, and has a great interest in the world as well.
The association has also led to a broad, conceptual and practical transformation, among major systems, such as Social Security, Mental Health System, and social services, in understanding that women have been trapped in prostitution from severe life circumstances, neglect and mistrust, however they have the power to leave it if they receive a non-judgmental, supportive and understanding service. Following a close collaboration, more and more
field personnel are aware of the damages caused by prostitution and trust more in their ability to help women.

Today, the organization activities are varied and include a multi-purpose support center for women in prostitution, a social business studio that only employs program's graduates, a business incubator for developing personal revenues, a learning center for professionals, regular participation in the Knesset committees, and the Coalition for combating prostitution.

Hundreds of women each year get the chance to build a new, initiative, respectful and creative life.
