Prize for Lifetime Achievement for an Inspirational Woman

Iris Stern Levi is a feminist, activist working in the field since the 1990s. She lectures on gender related issues, feminism, and women's empowerment; Facilitates groups on a variety of topics around feminism, sexual assault, identity, and gender; Conducts gender empowerment courses for gay men and facilitates groups for the development of feminist consciousness. Iris worked for over 16 years at the Tel Aviv Rape Crisis Center in Tel Aviv. There she led an array of 200 volunteers that gave online assistance to victims of sexual assault. For the past 10 years, Stern Levi has been a co-director and founder of two associations: "Turning the Tables" (2011) and "Her Academy” (2016), both associations are vocational schools that provide employment assistance and guidance to women exiting prostitution and violence. These ground-breaking and innovative schools have gained international recognition. She also co-directed the "Tribunal for Women's Victims of Sexual Assault".

Iris was active in "Bat Shalom" and "Women Crossing Barriers" - a group of women from Tel Aviv and Jenin. She also worked with refugees in the Shapira neighborhood, where she established and created an art studio that operated for five years on a voluntary basis. Thanks to her inspiring work and active leadership over the years, Iris Stern Levi has been able to help hundreds of women break out of circles of violence and prostitution and take the step forward towards a better and more stable life.
